I've had difficulty in the past choosing guys to do my wedding. But I have been asked by a mate to do it for him because I have a pretty good vid camera. What are the features that people generally look for. (I want this to be pretty good for him and his wife-to-be)

Ok. I think you'd better rewind a bit. If you want something to look really good, with all the features and future-proofed, you need to employ a professional (no offense intended). What if your camera breaks down - do you have a spare? do you have a spare battery? Have you experience of dealing with low lighting in reception venues? What are you going to edit it with? If it was up to me, I'd pay someone experienced because the only really lasting memories of your weddong day are in the photographs and the wedding video.

I haven't booked my videography guy yet. But i know that i want it on Blu-ray, and there are certain special effects that I have seen on some of my friends' wedding videos that i also would like on mine. Could somebody recommend someone in the County tyrone area? I also would like perhaps two cameramen to get a variety of shots.

I'd like a couple of wedding video guys too. I want them to film us during photographs, and also our guests as the mill about the Armagh City Hotel. Show the craic!

3 weeks to my wedding and i still haven't chosen a wedding video guy. I'm going to try Keymoments and Mark Gillespie or Purity Studios - any recommendations? And good / bad stories out there?

I had a look at Paul Hughes Videos, but i don;t think his stuff is that great. Mind you, I am fussy. I quite like Mark Gillespie Videography work, mainly because of the music choice. But he doesn't have two guys I think

Main thing I've noticed is if there is low light in a reception, the quality really goes down. You need to ask your video guy what he can do to make it better, without being intrusive. Also being able to order extra dvds even years down the line. Someone I know still hasn't got their wedding video made 4 years later!

yes, I've heard people complain about "low light" and not being able to properly see the wedding cake cut or the first dance. What about Blu-Ray - is this something I should go for?

Yes, a friend of mine got someone to do it and you couldn't see the cake-cutting at all. She hates her wedding dvd as a result!

Blu-ray is getting more popular. I'd get your wedding video on Blu-ray, just in case DVD becomes obsolete in the future!

I'm looking for a wedding video company that has two cameramen and will be present when I am getting ready in the morning (and my hubby-to-be is getting ready) and can stay until the end of the party. Any takers / advice?
